The Europa League is an annual tournament that pits teams from all over Europe. For the 2021-22 Europa League, the English clubs initially participating were Leicester City, who won the FA Cup, and West Ham United, who finished sixth in the Premier League .
After the group phase, Leicester City dropped into the Europa Conference League.

2021-22 Europa League Group Stage

All of these were Thursday evenings, in the same week as Champions League games on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Teams alternate home and away each week .

2021-22 Europa League Knockout Stage Playoffs

Welcome to UEFA goofiness, where the Round of 32 is called a playoff. This rung pits the eight teams who finished second in their Europa League group stage against eight teams who finished third base in the Champions League. So this is how Champions League clubs wind up in the Europa League.

West Ham, by winning their group, get to sit out this round .
This is one game at each club, sum goals wins .

  • First Leg: February 17
  • Second Leg: February 24

2021-22 Europa League Round of 16

After the above goofiness, we get 16 winners, and they play home-and-away again. The draw for the Round of 16 is February 25, 2022. This is when West Ham will come back into the rub .

  • First Leg: March 10
  • Second Leg: March 17

2021-22 Europa League Quarterfinals

again, one game at each cabaret, total goals wins. The draw for the quarterfinals, semifinals and final will happen March 18, 2022.

  • First Leg: April 7
  • Second Leg: April 14

2021-22 Europa League Semifinals

  • First Leg: April 28
  • Second Leg: May 5

2021-22 UEFA Europa League Final

The Europa League Final is May 26, 2022 in Seville, Spain .
