Ricardo Andrade Quaresma Bernardo ( european portuguese : [ ʁiˈkaɾðu kwɐˈɾɛʒmɐ ] ; born 26 September 1983 ) is a portuguese professional football player who plays as a winger for Vitória de Guimarães. He began his career at Sporting and went on to play for Barcelona, Inter Milan, Porto ( twice ), Chelsea, Beşiktaş ( twice ), Al-Ahli Dubai and Kasımpaşa before joining Vitória de Guimarães in 2020. Regarded as a mercurial endowment, his tricks, including the rabona and trivela ( a flex shoot with the outdoor of his right foot ) made him a popular figure among fans around the world. [ 3 ]

Sporting CP [edit ]

Quaresma was born in Lisbon. A trainee at Sporting CP ‘s celebrated academy, the 17-year-old was promoted to the first team by coach László Bölöni before the beginning of the 2001–02 temper, playing 28 Primeira Liga matches and scoring three goals as the team won the double. On 13 June 2010, Quaresma joined Beşiktaş J.K. of the Turkish Süper Lig, [ 27 ] who paid €7.3 million for his services and signed him to a three-year contract, which entitled him to €3.5 million in the foremost season and €3.75 million in the adjacent two. Quaresma is of partial Romani descent, [ 51 ] earning him the nickname “ O Cigano “ ( “ The Gypsy ” ). [ 86 ] Speaking of an alleged racial slur towards him by an opposition in 2014, he said, “ When I hear people say there is no racism nowadays it makes me laugh. When something happens in Portugal it ‘s always fault of gypsies, blacks, immigrants. It ‘s ruffianly to live with this. ” [ 86 ] In May 2020, he spoke out against the anti-Romani rhetoric of the politician André Ventura. [ 87 ] Quaresma was mistakenly quoted by media outlets as being the great-nephew of early Portugal external footballers Alfredo Quaresma and Artur Quaresma [ 88 ] [ 89 ] but late denied this, however citing them as “ an inspiration ”. [ 90 ] Quaresma is known for his tattoo. In 2016, he had two teardrops inked onto his face. [ 91 ] Later that class, he had Psalm 91 :4 tattoo on the back of his point. [ 92 ] Quaresma had two sons with his collaborator, and a daughter from a former relationship. [ 93 ] A convert to Catholicism, he was baptised in July 2016 together with his sons in Pêro Pinheiro, Sintra, [ 93 ] with teammates Eliseu and Carlos Martins being present at the event. [ 94 ]
