Affiliates and club academy [edit ]
The USL ‘s Wilmington Hammerheads were New York City ‘s first affiliate club, announced on January 16, 2015. [ 185 ] One year late, both clubs announced a long-run extension to that original agreement. [ 186 ] On April 21, 2016, the club besides announced that the Long Island Rough Riders would be their official Premier Development League collaborator beginning with the 2016 season. [ 187 ] After the Wilmington Hammerheads dropped to an amateur league following the 2016 season, New York City farther announced another affiliation agreement, partnering with San Antonio on February 9, 2017.
