Fabian Delph ( bear 21 November 1989 ) is an english professional football player who plays as a cardinal midfielder for Premier League baseball club Everton and the England national team. He was on the books of Bradford City as a child until he moved to Leeds United aged 11. Having played 45 matches for Leeds at League One grade and once in the Championship, he transferred to Premier League club Aston Villa in August 2009 for £6 million. In 2012, he returned to Leeds for a short loan while. Delph had a successful start to the 2012–13 Premier League season, leading Villa coach Paul Lambert to call for his inclusion in the England police squad. [ 4 ] In July 2015, Delph joined Manchester City for £8 million.

Leeds United [edit ]
Born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, [ 5 ] Delph started his career in football as a child at Bradford City. [ 6 ] Delph left City in September 2001 to join Leeds United after he was recommended to their academy coach Greg Abbott by erstwhile Bradford coach Paul Jewell, whose son played with Delph. [ 7 ] [ 8 ] He went to Tong Secondary School, which he left in 2006 to sign a biennial scholarship with Leeds United, at the senesce of 16 years. [ citation needed ] After a string of impressive performances in give 2007, Delph was made captain of the Leeds Reserves. He was given his debut at Leeds as a substitute in the final match of the 2006–07 season against Derby County on 6 May 2007, a match in which Robert Bayly was besides given a debut for Leeds. Manager Simon Grayson said : “ If he scores goals like that, his value is going to go up. It surely wo n’t go down. ” [ 21 ] Despite the attention of Premier League managers, Delph remained with Leeds as the January transfer windowpane closed. [ 22 ] By March 2009, his performances during the 2008–09 season earned Delph a nominating speech for the League One actor of the year, which was won by Leicester City ‘s Matty Fryatt, and helped him to win the young musician of the class in the end of season Football League Awards. Aston Villa [edit ]
After Leeds failed to gain promotion from League One, respective Premier League clubs including Everton, [ 26 ] Manchester City, [ 27 ] Fulham, Sunderland, [ 28 ] Tottenham Hotspur [ 29 ] and Aston Villa were linked with Delph. On 3 August 2009, Villa agreed an undisclosed tip with Leeds for the transfer of Delph to Villa Park. [ 30 ] The transfer was concluded the follow day after Delph completed a checkup and agreed personal terms. [ 31 ]

Delph ‘s entire Premier League debut came at home against Wigan Athletic on 15 August 2009, the first day of the 2009–10 Premier League season. [ 32 ] In a match that Villa lost 2–0, Delph received a yellow wag and was replaced in the 61st minute by Steve Sidwell. [ 33 ] On 23 January 2010 Delph scored his first finish for Aston Villa in the FA Cup win at home against Brighton & Hove Albion. [ 34 ] On 17 April 2010, Delph had to be carried away from training on a stretcher after picking up a “ serious ” stifle injury. He was immediately taken for tests on the wound. [ 35 ] It was former revealed on 19 April 2010 that Delph had suffered a cruciate ligament injury, set to keep him out of legal action for up to eight months. [ 36 ] Delph returned to action on 26 February 2011, in a Premier League victory over Blackburn Rovers, when he came on as an impromptu left-back after Nathan Baker was injured in the first half. After reports that he could leave the club at the end of the season due to his contract die, Delph signed a four-and-a-half-year narrow on 25 January 2015, keeping him at Villa until 2019. [ 44 ] On 7 March, Delph scored the inaugural goal as Villa defeated local rivals West Bromwich Albion 2–0 to reach their inaugural FA Cup semi-final since 2010. On 23 December 2008, Delph was arrested by patrol and charged for drink drive in Rothwell, Leeds, while driving home with four friends. [ 72 ] He pleaded guilty at Leeds Magistrates ‘ Court to the charge of driving whilst over the limit ; he was fined £1,400, disqualified from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay costs of £60. [ 73 ] Delph has three daughters, the youngest of whom was born during the 2018 World Cup. [ 74 ]
