Idrissa Gana Gueye ( have a bun in the oven 26 September 1989 ) is a senegalese professional football player who plays as a defensive midfielder for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain and the Senegal home team .

Born in Dakar, Gueye spent his early on career in Senegal for Diambars before joining french club Lille in 2008. [ 2 ] He broke through into the first team in the 2010–11 season, in which Lille won Ligue 1, and became a regular appetizer in the league and the UEFA Champions League over the following four seasons. Aston Villa [edit ]

On 10 July 2015, Gueye joined English Premier League club Aston Villa for a £9 million transfer fee. [ 4 ] [ 5 ] On 8 August, he made his debut in a 1–0 away victory over AFC Bournemouth. [ 6 ] On 19 January 2016, Gueye scored his first and only finish for Villa in a 2–0 over Wycombe Wanderers in the third round play back of the FA Cup. [ 7 ] In full, Gueye made 35 league appearances for Villa as the club was relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season. [ 8 ]

Everton [edit ]

On 2 August 2016 and with Aston Villa relegated from the Premier League, Everton triggered a release article in Gueye ‘s compress, reported to be £7.1 million, [ 9 ] and signed him to a four-year compress. On 30 July 2019, Gueye signed for Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of £30million. [ 20 ] [ 21 ] On 25 August, he made his debut in a 4–0 victory over Toulouse. [ 22 ] On 18 September, he produced a “ brainy ” display in a 3–0 succeed over very Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. [ 23 ] His inaugural goal for PSG came in a 4–0 gain against Angers on 5 October. [ 24 ] In his first season in Paris, Gueye would go on to win a domestic triple and ending runner-up in the Champions League, failing to beat Bayern Munich in the concluding. [ 25 ] [ 26 ] In his moment season, the club won the Coupe de France and made the semi-finals of the Champions League, losing to Manchester City. [ 27 ] [ 28 ] After having been suspended for two Champions League matches due to a red wag in the first leg of the semi-final against Man City in April 2021, [ 29 ] Gueye made his return to European football in a 2–0 gain over the Citizens on 28 September 2021. Gueye made his external debut for Senegal in 2011, [ 2 ] and has appeared in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches for them. [ 32 ] He besides represented them at the 2012 Olympics, [ 32 ] and the 2015, [ 33 ] 2017 and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. In May 2018, he was named in Senegal ‘s 23-man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. [ 34 ]
